Industry: Logistics
Description: Client needed to modernize its operation, significantly improve productivity and reduce costs. The existing CPG fulfillment was largely manual and there were no integrated, automated material handling, inventory management or shipping systems.
Impacts: Automated the fulfillment process and supply chain with an integrated and connected technology platform. Launched the worlds most automated distribution center in in the Midwest, located within 2-day ground delivery of customers. Specific outcomes included consolidating five general ledgers into one, implementing a fully automated material handling system and launching a state-of-the-art automated storage and retrieval system. The fulfillment operation required only one touch from pick to carrier resulting in huge cost savings.

Business Process Outsourcing Renegotiation
Industry: Financial Services
Description: Client needed their BPO contract renegotiated to incorporate robotic process automation of back office processes to scale the business. Determined requirements for contract modification. Established schedule for the negotiation of a contract amendment. Briefed the customer on specific business and contract provisions to be considered. Led negotiations between customer and supplier. Identified missing processes and methodology for effective deployment of robotic process automation. Determined expected savings and developed service level agreement.
Impacts: Renegotiated first ever BPO transaction to incorporate robotic process automation. Established contract provisions that protected the customer’s rights. Service levels were substantially better than previously agreed to. Customer and supplier have a strategic relationship going forward. Customer contract was amended to deliver significant savings with no investment.

Due Diligence
Industry: Retail
Description: Performed due diligence for global IT organization. Identified critical risks and developed risk mitigation plan.
Impacts: Identified several security risks, hardware risks, network latency issues, disaster recovery exposures and capacity risks. Provided prioritized roadmap options with costs that client used to mitigate their risks.

M&A Advisory
Industry: Financial Services
Description: After determining that mortgage servicing was the core business of client, led the corporate development function to determine acquisition requirements and candidates, vet possible candidates, perform due diligence and provide support for negotiations. Served as the integration management office for two acquisitions.
Impacts: Successfully led client through two acquisitions in two years. The largest acquisition, a $1 billion acquisition, was recognized by the Association of Corporate Growth as one of the deals of the year.

Outsourcing Advisory, Transition Management
Industry: Retail
Description: Client concluded performance improvement initiatives would not achieve goals. Assessed the current environment, led the outsourcing process including RFP development and publication, proposal review and vendor selection, contract development and negotiation. Provided transition assistance to outsourced service provider.
Impacts: Established an outsourcing solution that included $200 million in cost reductions.

Joint Venture Advisory
Industry: Healthcare
Description: Led negotiations between two major healthcare payors. The joint venture provided access to providers out of footprint and provided access to provide services to the new geographic marketplaces. Utilized sophisticated tracking tool to manage issues and bring closure to negotiations and completion of joint venture agreement.
Impacts: Joint venture agreement was completed in three months and the agreement opened access for both companies to provide new products and services nationwide.

Interim Management / Turnaround
Industry: Financial Services
Description: The IT organization was not responsive to company management needs, showed little in the way of proactive, positive management and lacked true leadership capabilities. Established IT reorganization plan with company business and HR leadership. Inserted an interim CIO and two managing consultants into the IT organization to turnaround specific areas related to organization transformation, process improvements, data management strategy, platform strategy, information Security, IT PMO and governance. Established effective operational controls, resolved open operational issues, and improved delivery performance.
Impacts: Instituted a governance program for all IT expenditures, including shadow IT expenditures, that improved real value of IT to the organization. Staff reorganization improved morale and resulted in several promotions. The future strategy for the IT organization was designed and executed resulting in overall service delivery improvement. Saved the Client from spending over $350,000 in third party development costs.
